Namita Chad is a queer South Asian activist & grantmaking practitioner purposeful about grassroots and global movements for gender justice, migrant justice and self-determination. Namita joins Nebula Fund as Director of Operations overseeing organizational and financial operations in coordination with Nebula Fund’s fiscal sponsor.

Namita has over 20 years of operational and programmatic experience in LGBTQ philanthropy and local and global economic justice organizing, with organizations including the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, Ekō, DRUM-Desis Organizing and Moving. In addition to their programmatic leadership in philanthropy, they have held diverse operational roles including finance officer, grants manager, manager of grantmaking operations and database & technology coordinator. As a self-identified spreadsheet nerd and proponent of the value that “structure follows function,” they are passionate about building progressive structures that are fit-for-purpose, operationalized for feminist grantmaking. They have an educational background in Gender and Sexuality Studies and Public Administration and are currently on the Board of Funders for LGBTQ Issues.
